Prayer to Soothe My Spirit from the Loss of My Child

Dear Father, it will never end, will it? The pain of losing my child will truly never end. With Your help, I do believe it can get better, so please start making it better. I need Your help because I certainly can’t do this alone. My body hurts, I’m physically sick, and my whole person has left me and strayed so far away, I can’t seem to find it. When my thoughts linger too long, lift my spirits with Your soothing words, and when my tears start flooding down my face and into my hands uncontrollably, stop them with Your resounding promises of hope. Lord, control my emotions, help me to heal, and bring me to higher ground. In Your name, I pray. Amen.
