Sovereign Lord Jesus, we loved our relative and friend, but you loved him more. We thank you for seeing it fit to place him into our lives. Thank you for the times we shared with him. His sudden death has left us speechless and broken. Give us stillness in our hearts during this grieving period. Help us to grieve like believers knowing that the separation is only for a season. Let calmness reign in our hearts. Help us to be faithful in prayer and joyful in hope. Give us peace that we may be free from anxiety and worry. May we relax in your presence as we lay our beloved to rest. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
