Borrow the words of a Psalm
Psalm 13 gives voice to waiting and sorrow. Psalm 23 speaks of care in danger. Psalm 46 turns toward God in trouble. Read slowly and use a line as your own prayer.
Use a very short prayer
Try “God, help me,” “Jesus, be near,” or “Give me strength for today.” Leave space after the words. You do not need to force a feeling.
Let someone pray with you
A trusted friend, pastor, or church community can pray alongside you. If you are overwhelmed, ask for practical care too. Prayer does not require facing everything alone.
Begin again gently
Distraction and tiredness are common. When your attention wanders, return without scolding yourself. One quiet minute can be a starting point.
